I have been thinking a lot about our future. OK, not just thinking about it, worrying about it. I want to make sure that we are following the path God has planned out for us. I want my children to grow up in Christ. When I come across choices in life, I want to choose the right road.
This morning I opened Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest and this is the verse at the top of the page, "Do not worry about your life. . ." Matthew 6:25
Do you ever feel like you are worrying so much about life that you are missing out on the life that God intends for you?
I am a planner and I like to know what is coming around the corner. I like controlled adventure, as long as I am in the driver's seat.
However it is very clear in scripture that we are not to worry about anything. "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 7:34
I go into today trusting God will lead me. I go into today with no worries. I have given my life to Christ and I need to trust that He will take care of the details.

Good old Oswald got me through my first year of college on fire for God.
I lean into worry. I do it for many reasons, but this post was a good reminder...God is in control and He has a handle on it.

Wow, its funny how someone's blog really reflects what we're personally feeling. Amy, thank you for the reminder. I love the verse. I find that I sometimes worry about the small things and forget about the big picture.
I too worry constantly, but I am not one to usually rely on God to relieve that worry. But that is just me.
I understand completely the need to control adventures. Adventures are grand but I too find now that I have children and it isn't just me and my life on the line, controlled adventures are better.
Please relax and know that you are raising your children with God at its center. They will grow up knowing full well about God. Also please remember that their adventure with God will probably be entirely different from yours. Don't forget to let them be who they are, even if at times it is falling off the "path" with God. He will watch out for them. He will keep them in His sights.
