Following the Father

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

This verse has been one that has always been important to me. Especially in the last few years when I have really been trying to follow the Lord's plan for my life and not so much my own.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that He knows better than I do. I also have to remind myself that His way is not always easy.

It has been a very emotional week for me. I have had to tell some of my very best friends that we are moving. We will only be 3 1/2 hours away, but soon we will be saying good-bye.

This will be the fourth town we will move to in our 10 years of marriage. Moving is never easy. Saying good-bye is always hard.

We are excited about the move because we are moving to my hometown. We are moving to family. Our kids will grow up with their grandparents and cousins and aunts and uncles.

For months we have been thinking, praying and planning this move. Wondering if it would even happen. Now the time has come and it will be extremely difficult to say good-bye.

I am focusing on all of the details. I am seeing God at work in all of the details and I am praising Him, even on the difficult days.

It was hard to watch my daughter when she cried herself to sleep thinking about leaving, but I know God is in control. It was fun to see how excited my other daughter was that her aunt will be her librarian every day at school.

Life is hard, following instead of leading is even harder. But I know He is guiding my steps and He will be there every step of the way.

Love you!! I'm sad and happy at the same time. Sad cuz you're leaving - happy for you guys that you are going home! I know that you guys are following God's leading and that brings me comfort. It's so bittersweet.

I know the moving thing well. Have lived in 5 different places since we married 11 yrs. ago.

I loved the book, After the Boxes are Unpacked. Helped my transition.
